Hi Don,

(Your post got caught in a spam filter, sorry for the late response.)

TrialPad will work on an iPad 1 running iOS 5, but you will need an iPad 2 with the mirroring to be able to use TrialPad with AppleTV to present wirelessly.

Kind regards,

Ian

Hi Tunde,

The only restriction with what you've described is that the device you want to connect to the AppleTV to display your image has to have an HDMI input.

Kind regards,

Ian

Thanks for this info. I have been waiting for this as i do not want to be tied to one spot. Can Trialpad project wirelessly to a non-HDTv surface - for instance, an ordinary white board? I have the ipad2 with iOS 5 and I am about to get the Apple TV, but want to be sure that I can project to any projector screen or white board - in addition to a HDTV.

Thanks, Tunde

Or like Ian pointed out on another thread, a MiFi Internet modem from Verizon or AT&T will also accomplishes this and also gives you Internet access.

WiFi does not mean Internet access. You need an AT&T or Verizon modem for Internet access (and yes this also accomplishes the WiFi as well - good idea), but you do not need Internet access to connect the iPad to the Apple TV. All you need in a WiFi network and the Airpot Express Base station accomplishes this with or without Internet access.

But you still need a WiFi network for the Airport Express. The best solution I have found is to get a small MiFi device from AT&T or Verizon. You can use this to set up your own personal WiFi network for presenting wirelessly and having your team access the internet without having to rely uon the courthouse system.

To address the concerns of bringing your own Wi-Fi to the courtroom, all you need is an Apple Airport Express Base Station (smaller than the Apple TV and only costs $99). This device will create your portable Wi-Fi and once you setup (or have a techie setup for you) and have your AppleTV configured to automatically join this portable Wi-Fi, it's all plug-and-play. Now what we need is for the courthouse to at least provide a screen in each courtroom so we do not have to carry one around!
